Here’s what you need to know:
Macadamia Oil is delicious
It has a rich golden colour with a nutty sweet taste. The aroma is beautiful and it really enhances flavours. It can be used as a salad dressing, marinade or is great on its own as a dipping oil.
In cooking, Macadamia Oil retains its flavour. It’s great in stir fries and baking. We have been using it in our carrot cupcakes ever since we realised its potential.
Macadamia Oil has a high heating capacity
It has a much higher smoking point (210C) than olive oil. This makes it the perfect oil for cooking. It will retain its nutty sweet flavour and won’t burn.
Because it can be cooked at about 40C hotter than olive oil it retains all of the beneficial fatty oils in cooking and baking.
Macadamia Oil is good for you
It contains up to 85% monounsaturated fats and contains high levels of oleic acid; much more than olive oil. Oleic acid has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, reduce asthma symptoms, good for memory retention and increases testosterone levels.
Macadamia Oil contains magnesium which is good for your bones, nerve and muscle function and soft tissue.
It has no trans fats and less polyunsaturated fat than olive oil.
