Another great company that we had to include in our prize pack. Definitely products we have in our pantries. Enjoy their lovely story:
It starts on the family farm.
“It’s not enough to produce healthy, quality foods – people want to taste the difference.”
Founded in 1999 by Pam and Martin Brook; family owned and run, Brookfarm is Australia’s most awarded producer of premium macadamia products, winning over 35 National and International awards. Including the prestigious Telstra Australian Business of the year 2007 and MYOB Australian Business of the year– the first food producing company to win this prestigious award.
In November 2000 after 18 months of testing, baking and tasting Pam & Martin sold their first Macadamia Mueslis at the local Bangalow markets. Pam created the products and for the first 2 years they baked and packaged in the local bakery, then Martin would load the muesli into the back of his car and sell to local shops & cafes.
Created in the Byron Bay hinterland, their products were developed from a passion for a great tasting healthy foods, made the traditional ‘Slow Food’ way.
The product range grew by popular demand and today all Brookfarm products are made in a purpose built factory. High quality and attention to detail still lies at the very core of the business.
All of their products are Nutritionally balanced to provide outstanding health benefits. This steams from their family inspiration, Pam Brook’s father, Mick Hull. Mick was one Victoria’s skiing legends.
“Our kitchen used to be filled with jars of oats, bran, nuts, grains, seeds, dried fruits and secret ingredients my father would specially request. He would then blend a new mix each week until the ideal combination was achieved.” Mick was passionate about Muesli and passionate about his skiing and was one of the early pioneers of downhill skiing in Australia. He skied until he was eighty-four, winning gold medals in the over seventies and later in the over eighties slalom races. At the age of 79 he came in second in the world’s over 70’s Giant Slalom championships in Austria. Mick was pipped at the post by an 85 year old on a handicap countback.”
